The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through an efficient.

It's efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well however this is something that you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device comes with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature.  robot vacuum cleaners uk robotvacuummops  allows you to adjust the amount of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to note that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. This includes a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which is equipped with microfiber pads. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan map that it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that inform you that it was starting and finishing its work.

The app was too easy and you had to change the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app isn't able to hold multiple maps, which can be a pain if you have a home with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
